Sunlight
Baroque guitar or archlute (alto lute) are not the instruments that are initially associated with Queen and Björk. And yet, Franco-Swiss musician Elise Tricoteaux (Cuerdas Guitar Quartet, Led Farmers, Penguins by Choice) combines all these elements on her debut album "Sunlight". This album includes a mix of pop, folk, and classical music – summarized as Baroque Pop – reminiscent of Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, or Richard Dawson. Different plucked instruments come together with various guitars, the lyrics are sometimes deeply sad, sometimes infectiously joyful, and often surprising.
In total, "Sunlight" has become a debut as intriguing as it is radiant.
